Supporting Multicultural Communities in the
City of Knox
The Knox Wellness Hub Psychology Clinic is an initiative of Mental Health Foundation Australia, created to make counselling more accessible and affordable for people who may need support. We believe support should be accessible to everyone, regardless of background, culture or stage of life.
Our Knox Hub offers a safe, confidential and welcoming space where you can talk through everyday challenges at your own pace.
- From $30 per 50-minute session
- No GP referral required
- In-person and Telehealth appointments
- Confidential and non-judgemental support
- Welcoming people from diverse cultural and community backgrounds
Why a hub in the city of Knox?
Support that reflects the community around us
Around 33% of Knox residents were born overseas, while 29% speak a language other than English at home. Knox is also home to young families, older adults, carers and people living alone, creating different wellbeing needs across the community. The way we experience and express wellbeing can vary across cultures, families and stages of life.
Wellbeing looks different for everyone. For some people, personal challenges may be talked about through:
- family and relationships
- work and financial pressure
- physical wellbeing
- caring responsibilities
- faith and community
- loneliness or missing home
- everyday stress
Others may prefer to keep personal matters within the family, may not know where to seek support, or may worry about what others will think. The Knox Hub is designed to provide a local and affordable place to seek support earlier, before everyday challenges become harder to manage.
