Affordable mental health support for every stage of life.
The MHFA Integrated Wellness Hub is a multidisciplinary, community-based mental health service supporting children, adolescents, adults, carers, and families. We provide early intervention, affordable, and accessible support for individuals experiencing mental health challenges, as well as their loved ones. Our services are designed to ensure that help is available when it’s needed most, regardless of financial circumstances.
Each year, the Wellness Hub delivers over 2,000 counselling sessions, helping people improve their mental health through low-cost care.
- $30 per 50-minute counselling session.
- Free sessions for individuals experiencing financial distress.
- In-clinic and telehealth options available.
- Services for children, adolescents, adults, and families.
Our Vision
We aim to be a leading provider of early intervention mental health services, support, and education, promoting wellbeing for all Australians.
Our work aligns with the recommendations of Victoria’s Royal Commission into Mental Health, with a strong focus on accessibility, prevention, and community-based care.
Who We Support
The “Missing Middle”
A core reason for establishing the Wellness Hub was to support the growing “missing middle” — people whose mental health needs are:
- Too complex or persistent for primary care alone
- Not severe enough to meet eligibility criteria for hospital or secondary mental health services
The Hub bridges this gap by offering timely, affordable psychological support before concerns escalate.
Wellness Wheel Concept
The Hub provides psychological services including mental health counselling, professional training opportunities, support groups, mental health telephone helpline, and referral services to community service providers such as housing, employment, legal services etc.

Partnering Universities
As part of its mission to provide affordable and easily accessible counselling services, the MHFA works in collaboration with various universities across Victoria and other states including University of Melbourne, Monash, University of Canberra, La Trobe, Deakin, Victoria University, Swinburne and Torrens, to offer final year Master of Psychology or Counselling students the opportunity to complete their clinical placements at the Wellness Hub. While counselling clients, these students are supervised by AHPRA board-approved psychologists, to ensure client and clinician safety throughout their placement journey with MHFA.
Evidence-based Practice Approach
Clinicians at the Hub work from an evidence-based practice approach, integrating the best scientific evidence, clinical experience and knowledge with client needs to provide tailored treatment. The Hub’s clinicians also work within their competence, upholding ethical considerations prescribed by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) to provide best practices.
Additionally, the Hub is committed to reducing stigma and discrimination around mental health and providing culturally appropriate and inclusive services. Clinicians are trained to work with clients from a variety of backgrounds and to provide non-judgmental and empathetic care, ensuring that the Hub’s services are accessible for all.
The Hub also collaborates with other service providers in the community, such as housing, employment, and legal services, to provide clients with a comprehensive range of services to access the resources they need.
The MHFA envisions a future where everyone has access to affordable and quality mental health care through the Wellness Hub. The MHFA is committed to working towards this goal and believes that the Hub can play a vital role in improving the mental health of all in the Australian community.
In summary, the MHFA Wellness Hub is a valuable resource for those seeking affordable and quality mental health care. The Hub's commitment to providing culturally safe and inclusive services, as well as its collaboration with other service providers, makes it a unique and valuable resource in the community.
